Vertical Shift

Vertical Shift presents a series of photographs depicting various landscapes, both human-made and “natural.” A common feature of these images is their ambiguous perspective—direction is uncertain, and orientation is not fixed. Vertical Shift seeks to suspend gravity and propose a more fluid vantage point from which to view the world. The photographs unsettle our sense of direction, perspective, self, and boundaries. In doing so, they open the possibility of another way of being in the world—one shaped by multifaceted and unexpected narratives that liberate the gaze rather than seek to control it.
